Classroom Space & Learning Opportunities

Here is our classroom 117 in the new Massey Library & Technology Center. How will we use this space to create a socially connected and interactive unit during our two hours and forty minutes? See the two large windows: will some students make a beeline for a seat near light and air? I would, less claustrophobic. The instructor's space is at the far end: you can see my pink milk crate of handouts for the first sessions. There are two large spaces near the entrance where this image was shot and at the far end. Space is good. We can roll our chairs toward each other in these spaces to chat. We will divide this free space into a large unit for discussions, small units for collaboration, and solitary units at the computer stations to research and write. Let see what happens next week.
